The Fempire is Taking Over the Automotive Industry
Aug 4, 2021Pass the Mic spotlights and promotes gender equity and cultural diversity in the advertising and audio industries. But despite the incredible female leadership we’ve showcased, there are many industries still struggling to make a shift toward equality, especially when it comes to executive positions.
The automotive industry has long been a male dominated field. In 2018, it was reported that of the top 20 motor vehicles and parts companies in the Fortune Global 500, there were only 16 female executives—that’s only 8% of all executives. Not to mention, over half of the top 20 companies lack any female executive leadership altogether.
We’re honored to introduce you to seven powerful women from the automotive industry, who are inspiring the next generation and making key changes to put women in the driver's seat:
Allyson Witherspoon, Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Nissan U.S.
Angela Zepeda, Chief Marketing Officer at Hyundai Motor America
Kimberley Gardiner, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Volkswagen of America, Inc
Lisa Materazzo, Group Vice President at Toyota Marketing
Marissa Hunter, Vice President, Head of Marketing at North America Stellantis
Marla Skiko, US & Global Head of Media at Ford Motor Company
Mary Kubitskey, Sr. Manager, Chevrolet Customer Influence
