Boulevard of Advertising Dreams: SiriusXM Small Stage Series

Jan 30, 2024

Welcome to the new year, a time for reimagined live experiences, rockin’ new SiriusXM channels, and tons of advertising opportunities. We started the year off strong with a Small Stage Series featuring four-time GRAMMY-Award-winning global rock superstars Green Day, presented by Carnival Cruise Line.

The show, which was held at the iconic Irving Plaza, commemorated the release of Green Day's new album, Saviors. It was also one of the only appearances they made before hitting the road for one of the most anticipated world stadium tours of the year. This was a celebration, not just of their new album, but also the 30th anniversary of their 1994 breakout album, Dookie, and the 20th anniversary of the GRAMMY-winning American Idiot.

Brand Benefits for the Ages

As the presenting sponsor, Carnival Cruise Line was there to make the event even more unforgettable for fans. Concert-goers had the chance to enjoy exclusive benefits and interact with the brand all night long.

Carnival Cruise Line made waves with on-site branding and signage everywhere. We’re talking entryway signage, check-in signage, digital signage, and, of course, signage on every screen in the venue.

As fans entered, they were given co-branded lanyards as a special keepsake they could take home after the show, as well as one free drink ticket to enjoy at the bar, courtesy of Carnival Cruise Line. To memorialize the night, fans stopped by our step-and-repeat photo opp and took pictures in front of the event’s co-branded key art.

Show Time

To start the show, the founding fathers of pop-punk kicked it off with “American Idiot,” then launched into a handful of songs from their new album, Saviors, such as “Look Ma, No Brains” and “Bobby Sox.” Fans sang along, did a little moshing, and even crowd surfed.

Green Day honored their history with tracks from the early 90s like “Kerplunk” and “2000 Light Years Away,” giving an energetic one-hour-and-40-minute performance to over 1,200 ecstatic fans.

As the show came to a close, Carnival Cruise Line honored one special guest with an onstage giveaway moment—talk about brand impact. This lucky fan (who had been waiting outside since 8 AM!) got a signed and framed event poster. The poster was designed by Green Day and signed by the entire band.

All of our guests got to take home a poster of their own as well. Brand ambassadors handed them out at the end of the show with Carnival Cruise Line branding on the poster tubes, leaving fans with a lasting brand impression and fond memories of a kickass show.
